Today I finally got round to buying a fine new magazine about typography. The first issue sold out quickly but can be purchased as a pdf. 8 faces, as the name suggests, contains revealing interviews with eight prominent type designers from around the globe.
The magazine begins with an interview given by Erik Spiekermann, the brilliant type designer of Meta (UB’s institutional typeface) and Officina. He talks, among other things, about designing Hebrew typefaces and the challenges of doing so when you don’t speak the language.
Thanks to Shannon, who first recommended the magazine to me.
